"We may forget but God never forgets the desires of our hearts."

“LORD, I KNOW YOU WILL GIVE THE DESIRES OF MY HEART”

You may have been waiting for the fulfillment of God’s promises to you. You may have been praying about a matter and thought about giving up. You may face situations that seem hopeless and problems that do not seem to have solutions. But the Bible reminds us that God can do anything. He has an appointed time for His answer and the fulfillment of His promises. Sister Katherine “Kathy” Merencillo, one of the IT Admin Staff, experienced how God remembers her desires when she was little. God never forgets, and in His appointed time, He made it happen. What an amazing truth that the God of the universe cares about granting our desires – small or big. Most kids have dreamt of going to Disneyland. Sis Kathy was one of those who dreamed, but it seemed impossible to happen back then. She also wanted to take up Accounting in college as her father did. Unfortunately, when Sis Kathy reached college, she veered into taking up another major because she had no other choice. As years passed, she has forgotten all about it. Sis Kathy became a missionary and a teacher in Malaysia. After her long-term mission in Malaysia, she had no idea that the Lord had greater plans for her. In 2010, the Lord told her to stay in the Philippines. So, she did. Sister Kathy had the opportunity to be a part of the IT admin staff as they were looking for a new accountant. Sis Kathy was hired and trained to be the new accountant. She was so into it, and she learned quickly. Sis Kathy enjoys doing her job, and it was a dream that God has fulfilled. She is truly blessed to work in IT. When IT had an East Asia Regional Conference in Macau in 2017, she was so looking forward to it for she had been dreaming of going to Disneyland. Macau is near Hong Kong, so she thought there was a huge possibility she could go to Disneyland. She was reminded of her desires when she was younger, and it made her ecstatic. She knew in her heart that her dream was about to be fulfilled. On top of that, God has exceeded her expectations. Sis Kathy was looking at the prices of the plane tickets and it was very expensive. She prayed to God “Lord, I know you will give the desires of my heart.” A few minutes later, she received messages from two different people who will pay for her round-trip ticket! She extremely praised God for it! Subsequently, three weeks before her flight, Sis Kathy received another message. It was from someone who will sponsor the entrance ticket to Disneyland for all the IT staff. She was so astonished, not only were her plane tickets paid for, but also the entry passes for Disneyland were given by God. Sis Kathy continues to work in the IT Office, and she is truly grateful for all the things God has done in her life. She is not a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) but the Lord made a way for her to become an accountant. “God doesn’t call the qualified, but He calls to qualify” Sis Kathy commented. You just have to wait for God’s promises, though it lingers they will surely come to pass. If God has promised you something, you will have to wait for its fulfillment. It can be a day, week, month, year, or even a lifetime. Abraham waited for 100 years before his promised son was born. God knows your heart and you just have to trust that you have a good, good Father. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
