God’s Revelation

“I am the eldest child in the family, and I was expected to be the breadwinner.”
Sis Kathy grew up in a family that believed that success is never left to chance, luck, or faith. It is planned and worked for and earned. Her parents trained her to value discipline and hard work, all of which would prepare her for a successful career and future. Being the eldest child, she was expected to be the breadwinner of her family. She studied long and trained hard. She was indeed bent to pursue and attain success in the corporate world she was in even as she continued to be actively involved in her church’s ministries.
It was during all these that the CALL OF GOD came to her. It was quite unexpected because the call was not just to be more involved in her local church but to serve as a missionary in faraway China! This would mean her giving up her promising job and move toward on a new and uncertain course! Naturally, her mother adamantly refused to let her go.
Kathy did not lose heart. She was convinced that if the Lord really wanted her to go to China, He would be the one to convince her mother.
One night, her mother had a dream. In the dream, she saw Kathy perish right in her very arms. As she tearfully asked God why Kathy had to die, the Lord told her that since she refuses to let Kathy live out her purpose and destiny, the Lord has decided to just bring her into His presence. She then understood that she has been standing in the way of Kathy’s pursuit of God’s plan in her life. She then tearfully begged God to give Kathy back to her. She promised the Lord that she would no longer prevent Kathy from obeying God’s call to serve as a missionary in China. Suddenly a baby was placed in her arms! Then God said, “This is your daughter, Kathy!”
She then woke up with her eyes filled with tears. She hurriedly informed Kathy indirectly through her sister about the dream and how she has come to the decision to give her blessing for Kathy to go and serve as a missionary to China in obedience to God’s call.
Kathy left for China as a missionary of International Teams Philippines a few months later.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)
(* After serving for almost 5 years in China, Kathy was moved by the Lord to a new country of assignment – JAPAN, where she serves up to the present as A MISSIONARY, A LOVING WIFE, AND A MOTHER TO 2 CHILDREN.)
